We understand that photos of your children are deeply personal and sensitive. Age Matched is designed to keep everything private and
secure on your device—no images or personal information leave your phone except when you explicitly choose to share. Below is our comprehensive
privacy approach, including optional analytics with full user control.
1. No Photo Data Leaves Your Device
- Local Processing Only: All photo analysis, thumbnail generation, and age-matching calculations occur entirely on your device.
- No Cloud Uploads: We do not upload, store, or share any photos, videos, or related data to our servers or any third-party service.
- No Copies Outside Photo Library: We display and cache only low-resolution thumbnails within the app's sandbox. Your original images remain safely in your Photo Library.
2. Optional Analytics with User Control
- Dedicated Privacy Controls: Age Matched is the only family app with a dedicated "Privacy" tab where you can easily control your data preferences. You can opt-out of analytics at any time directly within the app.
- Purpose: We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect basic, anonymized usage patterns (such as "photo imported," "timeline viewed," or "gallery opened") purely to understand how the app performs and to improve features for families.
- What We Collect (Only When Enabled):
- App usage patterns and feature interactions
- Crash reports and performance metrics
- General location (country level only)
- Device type and app version information
- What We NEVER Collect:
- Your photos or any visual content
- Names, ages, or details about your children
- Personal identifiers or contact information
- Precise location or GPS coordinates
- Any data that could identify you personally
- Your Choice: Analytics collection is enabled by default but can be easily disabled in the Privacy tab. When disabled, absolutely no usage data is collected or shared.
3. Privacy-First Design
- Transparent by Design: Unlike other family apps that bury privacy settings in legal documents, we put privacy controls front and center with a dedicated tab in our main interface.
- Respecting Your Family: We recognize that children's images and development milestones are extremely personal. Age Matched is built so that your family memories remain just that—yours and yours alone.
4. Data Processing and Legal Basis
- Data Processor: When analytics are enabled, Google LLC processes anonymous usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and our data processing agreement.
- Data Transfers: Anonymous analytics data may be transferred to Google servers in the USA, but this data cannot be linked back to you or your family.
- Legal Basis: We process anonymous usage data based on legitimate interest for app improvement (GDPR Art. 6.1.f), with easy opt-out available at all times.
- Data Retention: Analytics data is retained for 14 months (shorter than Google's default), then automatically deleted.

- Child Profiles: When you add each child's name and birthdate, that information is saved only on your device in the app's private storage. It is not synced, backed up, or transferred off-device.
- Thumbnail Cache: We store low-resolution thumbnails in the app's sandbox to speed up the timeline. These cached images can be cleared by deleting/reinstalling the app; they never leave your device.
7. Third-Party Services
- Analytics Only: When enabled, we use only Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage metrics. No advertising networks, social-media SDKs, or tracking services are included.
- No Ad Personalization: We explicitly disable advertising features and ad personalization in our analytics configuration.
- iOS Sharing: If you choose to share content via iOS's built-in Share Sheet, the images move directly between your device and the chosen app or contact. We do not intermediate or store that data.
8. Your Privacy Rights and Controls
- Easy Opt-Out: Access the dedicated Privacy tab in the app to disable analytics collection at any time. No hidden settings or complicated procedures.
- Photo Access Control: You may disable Photo Library access under Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Age Matched. If revoked, the app can no longer display images.
- Complete Data Removal: Uninstalling Age Matched removes all locally stored thumbnails, child profiles, settings, and analytics preferences. Since your photos and personal data never leave your device, there's nothing to delete from external servers.

9. Security Measures
- Apple's Sandbox Security: We rely on Apple's industry-leading sandboxing model. All data is accessible only within the app's private container; no external server has access to your photos or personal information.
- No User Accounts: Age Matched doesn't require login credentials, email addresses, or account creation, eliminating the risk of data breaches involving personal identifiers.
10. Children's Privacy
- COPPA Compliance: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since all data processing happens locally on your device, children's information never reaches our systems.
- Family Control: Parents and guardians maintain complete control over all family data through device-level permissions and in-app privacy settings.
